The Best Outdoor Jobs To Pursue

Being a realtor is an excellent job that often brings you outdoors throughout the day and week. I love being able to appraise properties, show potential buyers around, and spend a ton of my time in the outdoor. I also spend a lot of time driving from one place to the next and having the windows down during mid-day is an enjoyable aspect of my job as a real estate agent. I love that my job offers a mix of both – outdoors and indoors – and I get to enjoy both throughout the year. My best outdoor job was being a meter reader for the city. I loved everything about the job from the hours, to the pay, to working by myself listening to music and podcasts and getting exercise. In this role, you might spend a lot of time indoors in an office setting with a desk. Why then do we consider this to be an outside job? Because you’ll almost certainly have numerous opportunities to work outside. You might check the river’s or a lake’s water quality. If a bridge is due to be built, your office manager might ask you if you can scuba dive for mollusk research (they’re threatened, and you might be asked to observe how the population would be affected). You might spend an afternoon or several days collecting soil samples in a field. But after that, you’ll probably return to a lab to analyze those samples.

You’ll spend a lot of time in an office—but it’ll be a field office on the job site where you oversee projects and make selections about what you’re constructing. You will thereby benefit from the greatest of both worlds. When this rains or when you require some privacy, you can work indoors or simply have a place to go. However, you’ll also be directing your team outside as they work to complete a project. If you’re in charge of several building sites, you can spend a lot of time indoors and outdoors as well as moving from one site to another.

I would have to say that job was a tree service company. It may not seem like the most fulfilling job, but if you work for the right people and work with a good owner of the business it can be good. It doesn’t always involve work on residential properties like a person’s house, but jobs can also be worked near forests or other nature filled areas like woodland parks. This allows you to get out there in nature and experience it. Being able to help out people and the trees on their property can also be fulfilling.

Event planners are responsible for organizing and executing events, often outdoors. Event planners need to be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills. If you are a fan of the outdoors and love traveling, being a geographer would be a great choice for you. The salaries go up to $80000 and the job growth is great. You will get a chance to scale the planet. Your work would include collecting all sorts of data through which inferences can be drawn. You will analyze land, inhabitants, and cultural features. Geographers also try to understand how culture, politics, and society has an impact on the planet’s features. It’s an interesting role with a lot of room to learn. This job won’t get boring.

Being an adventure sport instructor is one of my dream jobs, and for really good reason – you get to be active and see some of the best parts of nature, all whilst getting to do sports that you love. I know people who work as ski and snowboarding instructors over winter, and then transition to water sports (such as surfing, white water rafting, and kayaking) over the summer. Operating in this kind of career schedule means that you get a lot more free time than you do in a traditional job – and can take a month or two off between seasons, to travel or to train. It is fairly well paid, too, and you get to meet so many similar minded young people. The skills that you develop are very transferable, too, and you can work at any resort in the world (so long as you can get a visa). I worked a few ski seasons as an instructor, and can say that it was the happiest and most free I have ever felt!

I think one of the best outdoor jobs someone can have is to be a location scout. The job essentially entails a lot of traveling, and working with movies and other projects to find the best possible locations for their projects, keeping various different factors, requirements, and preferences in mind. So the job is essentially traveling around to find beautiful places, pretty cool. To me, it would combine a passion for travel with a passion for discovering new things, and making connections to how different places could work with different projects.

If you love the outdoor life, there’s no better job than working for the U.S. National Park Service. You get to live the dream and spend most of your time in the great outdoors, you’ll deal. And meet new and exciting people on a daily basis and be able to enjoy Mother Nature, and the raw, visceral beauty of our incredible country, in all of its finery every single day. Life does not get much better than that.

It’s a tough world to break into, and it’s an unforgiving profession if you make mistakes, but pitting your car, and your driving skills against the challenging and unpredictable natural world and other drivers is an adrenaline rush unlike any other in the world. And best of all? You get to drive like a crazy person and get paid very well to do it.

If you have a penchant for science and space, then you could strive towards becoming an astronomer. These people will spend many nights staring through a telescope monitoring space debris or even black holes.
