Zojirushi

This product was recommended by John Bedford from Viva Flavor

Although it’s not a brand name that immediately springs to mind, I’m a big fan of Zojirushi’s kitchenware in general. Its flagship flip-top travel mug has been a popular choice for years. It retains the temperature of hot and iced drinks much more efficiently than other, more recognizable brands. Although the design is very sleek, lightweight and minimalist, it’s actually built like a tank and lasts for years too.

Contigo

This product was recommended by Will Hatton from The Broke Backpacker

I upgraded to the newer version of the Contigo flask. Just from unwrapping the product, it’s clear that they’ve really refined their design, and addressed the issues I encountered with their previous version. You’re now able to fasten and secure the flask so that it doesn’t accidentally get opened in a bag. It is much easier to lock than other flasks, and sturdy as they come. The ability to access the internal workings of the lid is great, so that it can be cleaned. In the older models, it was very awkward, and pipe cleaners were needed to really thoroughly clean it out. No issues thus far, totally leak proof. A gorgeous and smart colour. Absolutely superb for hot or cold beverages alike. The insulation is so good on this mug you have to take the lid off for a few minutes to allow it to cool down before you can take a sip, even after a few hours this is the case.

Nomader

This product was recommended by Bryan Sarlitt from Nomader, Inc.

The uniquely portable Nomader® Collapsible Water Bottle makes on-the-go hydration incredibly easy and sustainable. Designed with a flexible BPA-free silicone body, the reusable Nomader water bottle can be easily rolled-up and stowed away when not in use, yet it’s as comfortable to drink from as a hard-sided bottle. This innovative travel mug is leakproof, freezable, dishwasher safe, and backed by a lifetime warranty. Affordably priced and available in a variety of stylish colors, the eco-friendly Nomader bottle is the perfect travel gadget for moms.

S’well

This product was recommended by Matt Satell from Little Bundle

A really popular choice! Leakproof, well-insulated, fits everywhere it needs to, goes in the dishwasher and comes in dozens of colors.

Lenox

This product was recommended by Matt Satell from Little Bundle

This travel mug is best for purists who only want to drink coffee or tea from a ceramic cup. Your coffee will taste great and it fits in cupholders with no problem. It also doesn’t sweat condensation. But handwashing best protects the lid, and definitely don’t toss this mug in your bag. The lid protects against basic sloshing around but you can expect a big mess if you tilt it over in your backpack.

YETI

This product was recommended by Matt Satell from Little Bundle

The YETI Rambler has a wide handle that makes it easy to carry when you’re wearing mittens (important on cold mornings), and it keeps contents the right temperature for hours. But it doesn’t always fit in car cupholders. Great for camping.
