Canada is a fantastic place for your summer vacation! Or even spring vacation. Even if you live in Canada, there’s bound to be places you haven’t visited. There are what seem like countless national and provincial parks. There’s cities full of history and the latest events. But with Canada being so big, it can be hard to decide where to start. To help out, here are a few destinations in Canada that everyone should see at least once in their life.
Old Montreal For History
Montreal is a sprawling city with a lot to offer, but Old Montreal brings the history and the gorgeous waterfront view. Many of the buildings are still there from the 19th century, looking like a French quarter with flags and banners hanging from windows. A few old government buildings and churches are open to the public.
Parliament Hill’s Changing Of The Guard
Ottawa’s Parliament Hill also sports the construction of the 1800s, with the clock-adorned Peace Tower looking a lot like something out of London. Another touch of the old world are guards that dress in traditional style with red tops and tall black hats. These guards perform a public changing of the guard ceremony in the summer.
Petroglyphs Provincial Park
There are so many parks in Canada, with different aspects of nature to offer. Petroglyphs Provincial Park is more historical than natural, in that it has hundreds-year-old Aboriginal rock carvings that can still be viewed today. The glyphs offer a fascinating lesson in how people lived in Canada before it was settled.
Churchill Polar Bear Migration
Manitoba’s town of Churchill is a popular destination during the Fall due to the polar bear migration. The animals can be spotted from a safe distance as they come together and make their journey for the upcoming Winter. Those wanting a closer look can take tours in caged vehicles that drive close to the bear pack.
CN Tower For Dining And Thrills
Ontario’s famous tower can be seen from everywhere in the city of Toronto. If you go to the top, you’ll be able to look down upon the city and even walk outside of the tower suspended on safety ropes. A restaurant at the top offers a less risky view of the outside world.
Betting In Ontario

Ontario is becoming known for its vibrant gambling scene. Betting in Ontario is legal through the provincial lottery, and sports betting is coming later this year. You can already place bets on hockey games and other sports in Ontario casinos. Soon. online betting will be possible using casino and sportsbook apps.
Niagara Falls Top And Bottom
Niagara Falls is definitely one of the must-see wonders of the world. The Canadian side of the falls provides the expected view from the top, but you can also go on a boat tour to the bottom and behind the falls.
Canadian Museum for Human Rights
This newer museum in Winnipeg contains art and personal accounts from people who have suffered human rights abuses. By offering these disturbing and moving accounts directly from the source, the exhibits hope to chronicle these cruelties in a way that prevents them from ever happening again.
Tofino For Surfing, Hiking, And Romance
Tofino is a very small town in Vancouver that’s become a huge tourist destination due to all it offers. There are hiking and bird watching trails close by, and the waves in the summer are prime for surfing. Hot springs in the area make for a wonderful date destination. Finally, Tofino has a surprising number of quality restaurants due to all the chefs that have moved in recently to serve the tourist population.
