There’s nothing more thrilling than getting to indulge in a luxury vacation. While the prospect of going on a well-deserved holiday may not seem ideal at the moment, things are finally looking up, and before you know it, you’re strapped to a plane seat and headed to your next adventure.

Logan Voss previously mentioned how staying in a casino hotel is incredibly appealing. It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a luxury vacation, but casino hotels are typically an attraction in their own right, boasting 5-star facilities and amenities that will make you never want to leave.

In fact, today’s brick and mortar casinos are pulling out all the stops to attract new customers as they compete with the burgeoning online gaming industry, as well as a difficult 2020. With people having access to pretty much every type of game on their smartphones and digital devices, online gaming is soaring in popularity and is ever-evolving, to the point that it’s becoming more and more realistic. The array of table games on Foxy Games shows how online platforms are now able to host these digital versions of popular casino pursuits in live studios. This allows players to not only have access to a wider selection of games compared to physical casinos, but also replicate the casino’s live atmosphere. Given that online gaming is becoming hyper-realistic, today’s casinos are looking to improve their own offerings as well. It’s one of the reasons why Hard Rock Hotel, the iconic hotel that was once considered an institution, had to go through a complete overhaul to transform into a new space that is suitable for today’s modern audiences. By Fall 2020, it will be rebranded as the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas after a historic sale to Virgin Hotels for $500 million.

What can we expect from Virgin Hotels Las Vegas?

One of the most anticipated hotel openings of the year, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is primed to be an amenity-filled wonder, starting with its 1,500-plus rooms —chambers, grand chamber suites, and penthouse suites — 60,000 square feet of gaming space, and a whopping five-acre pool area. Designed to be a “modern desert resort oasis,” it will also feature 130,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, making it a place where business professionals and tourists can converge.

Anyone who’s looking to have a taste of the Vegas nightlife will be delighted to know that Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is only a stone’s throw away from the city’s hottest clubs and restaurants. But those who want to remain on-site won’t be disappointed, either. The hotel will have its fair share of bars and restaurants, as well as a live entertainment venue, The Joint. Guests can also expect to enjoy a variety of additional food and beverage options, including, but not limited to, the Commons Club, which is the Virgin Hotels’ flagship modern dining and social club concept, and The Shag Room, an intimate, secret cocktail den.

For those looking to take a dip in the pool, they will experience the ambiance of a private island, thanks to the intimate spaces and cabanas. You probably won’t even feel like you’re staying at one of the busiest and liveliest cities on the planet.

What are the latest developments about Virgin Hotels Las Vegas?

With most of the world at a complete standstill, it’s still all systems go with the construction of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It’s partly thanks to Gov. Steve Sisolak deeming construction as an “essential” sector, alongside hospitals and grocery stores.

President and CEO Richard “Boz” Bosworth disclosed that the overhaul is costing the company more than $200 million, but they have not experienced major disruptions when it comes to development. If anything, they only anticipate disturbances with regards to potential supply chains, but they’re being proactive by watching them very closely and coming up with contingency plans.

The company is also keeping a close eye on travel patterns, especially around the time when the hotel is finally set to open. They are well aware of the expectation that air travel will take a longer time to return than drive-in travel, but they are still in the process of figuring out how that changes customer demands and needs.

If Virgin Hotels manages to come out of this unscathed, their new home in Paradise Road will be ready to welcome you, and will be one more luxury hotel to add to our list of top places to stay.
