Make the most out of your solo travel by visiting one or more of the following locations. All of the following 9 locations would be great options for first time solo travelers or seasoned ones – so take a look below!

Catalunya/ North East Spain

This product was recommended by Gaurav Gandhi from ChefPassport

From the vast beaches of the Meditarranian, to the mountains of Montserrat, I believe Catalunya makes a perfect spot for some male alone time. The city of Barcelona is a perfect mix of beach life, active nightlife, spectacular food and rich cultural heritage. When in Barcelona, try restaurant Can Margarit to eat like a local dweller. Everything you will need to keep a man engaged. Mountains of Montserrat are an hour train ride and have spectacular hiking routes along with breathtaking views.

Looking for a couple of days of hard core workout, try renting a bike from Gerona (after you have explored the city) and visit places like Pals, Peratallada, and Begur! The adrenaline of bike ride, mixed with the calmness of the region will make for a perfect alone destination. If you are still not feeling the heat, extend your rides to Figueres, Roses and Cadaques, and discover what even got the likes of Picasso, Dali and Gaudi fall in love with the region!

Montreal, Canada

This product was recommended by Noman Asghar from Fan Jackets

Amazing place to visit, if you need to calm your mind then don’t wait to go Montreal. Well designed and multicultural hub that will explore you new world.

Miami, FL

This product was recommended by Austin Tuwiner from Scubaotter

As a man, Miami, FL has GOT to be one of my favorite places to go. Amazing beaches, hopping nightlife with amazing restaurants, lots of other singles, Miami has it all! It features beaches, art, history, culture, sports, and let’s not forget about diving! With most of our dive sites located only 3 miles off the coast, you can enjoy the underwater world with the Miami skyline as your backdrop.

Philippines

This product was recommended by Baldric Shyer from Teetotally Awesome

Everything is super cheap and Filipinos are awesome. They are so welcoming and friendly. Plus, they speak English so it’s a great place to go if you want something decidedly different but can ask for help or directions. In my opinion, it’s best to get out of Manila and head down to Cebu City. From there, you can ferry over and see the Chocolate Mountains and tarsiers! Then take a trip to Oslob to swim with some whale sharks. And even though you’re traveling alone, it’s easy to join up with locals or other travelers. Like I said, everyone is so welcoming! I went to the Philippines as a solo man for the first time five years ago and it hooked me on international travel. Since then, I’ve been to over ten other countries. But I’ll always return to the Philippines!

Coastal Mississippi

This product was recommended by Charles McCool from McCool Travel

Enjoy one of the classic USA road trips along several dozen miles of open views across clean and beautiful beaches or explore the largest undammed river in the lower 48 United States. Adventure trips include several places to kayak, fish, and even gamble in beautiful casinos. Whatever you do, make sure you eat fresh local shrimp as often as possible.

Zagreb, Croatia

This product was recommended by Steve Tsentserensky from finally.made.it

This hidden gem in southern Europe is prefect for the solo traveler. Steeped in Austro-Hungarian history and Slavic culture you can get lost taking in the stunning old world architecture. The city is easily navigable by foot but also has extensive tram network. The capital of Croatia is coffee obsessed which means hundreds of unique cafes await the solo traveler by day and that energy carries in the evening with a bustling nightlife scene. Oh and the food, you can’t go wrong with the hearty local cuisine, the burek and cevapis might not so great for you body but work wonders on the soul.

Dublin, Ireland

This product was recommended by Matt Scott from Baltimore Pest Pros

Why is this country a hotspot for a solo male traveler? Two words: Irish pubs. Nothing’s more Dublin than enjoying a pint of Guinness at a local pub. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet a friend or two whom you can have meaningful inebriated conversations with.

New York City

This product was recommended by Matt Scott from Baltimore Pest Pros

NYC is a hub for everyone, but I find it particularly enjoyable to travel if you’re a single guy. There are parks you can laze around in, gyms you can visit (the best martial arts gyms are in the city if you’re into that kind of training), and other historical places.

Indonesia

This product was recommended by Matt Scott from Baltimore Pest Pros

Bali, in particular, is a perfect island for solo male travel.. Spend your days either diving or surfing, or just enjoy the sand and sun. For me, it is the one beach town I find to be perfect for a much-needed restart.
