Vacationing is, a lot of the time, about relaxation, right? So why does it have to be stressful and tiring on the way there? We’ve got you a little something that will help you physically and mentally relax on your flight.
Inflatable pillow designs have come a long way. They’re now even more comfortable and compact than ever before. These are the options you’ll want to look at that are leading the field in 2020.
Candy Cane Travel Pillow

This product was recommended by Katie Golde from Mattress Clarity
This travel pillow originally started out as a Kickstarter campaign and now it’s fully funded and people can purchase it! I absolutely love the design of this inflatable travel pillow. It’s simple to inflate, took me about 10 breaths and then wraps around the neck and can be connected with a simple elastic strap.
The traveler can position it however he or she would like, based on where the person is seated and the extended/longer side can even be shared with a fellow passenger (hopefully, a friend!). The cover material is a polyester/spandex knit fabric that’s comfortable and durable and the price on this pillow is spot on around $25.
Travelrest Ultimate Travel Pillow & Neck Pillow

This product was recommended by Jeanine Joy from bestmattress.reviews
The Travelrest Ultimate Travel Pillow is my favorite travel pillow, inflatable or not. The level of comfort it provides is superior to that provided by pillows that wrap around the neck. While pillows that rest on the tray, that type doesn’t work if you end up in bulkhead seats and you’re at greater risk that your sleep will be disturbed by the person in the seat in front of you adjusting the position of their seat.
The Travelrest Ultimate Travel pillow helps keep your head upright so your neck isn’t tilted at an angle that will leave cause muscle soreness. It’s a bit like having the side of the plane to lean against in a window seat, but at a better angle. It inflates with just a few breaths and inflates quickly when you’re ready to disembark. It is also helpful to disabled individuals who are wheelchair bound who have difficulty holding their head upright.

My first choice would be trtl Pillow which is a scientifically proven super soft neck support travel pillow. It is machine washable along with being super soft and cosy.

Go Travel Snoozer Pillow

This product was recommended by Matthew Brown from Still As Life
Flying from Australia, it’s a long-haul flight to just about everywhere, and over the years I’ve done a lot of flying. In that time, I have gotten my packing down to a fine art, typically packing carry-on size baggage only. With that in mind, at just 45g, the Go Travel Snoozer pillow is very light and folds up almost completely flat – under 1cm folded up. This small size and weight make it perfect for carry-on luggage, especially when you travel with carry-on only like I usually do.
I’ve used a lot of inflatable pillows, and without fail, every single one has begun leaking after one or two long-haul flights. A leaky inflatable pillow is the last thing you need when you are trying to sleep. Waking up with a flat pillow and a sore neck is awful. The Go Travel Snoozer is the first pillow I’ve used that has never sprung a leak. It’s still going strong four years later and after many long and short-haul flights. Once inflated, the flat back works extremely well at locking your neck in and holding it in place so it can’t fall to either side. Again, avoiding that dreaded sore neck after sleeping upright.
I also recommend the Go Travel Snoozer because it is washable, perfect for those times when you’ve slept just a little bit too deeply and your saliva didn’t quite stay in your mouth. It’s happened to all of us, but those white drool marks on your pillow aren’t a great look and certainly aren’t appealing when you pull it out to use again on your next flight. The last reason, price. The Go Travel Snoozer is a basic pillow and comes with an excellent price tag to reflect that.
Yes, there is a more “advanced” version, the “Super Snoozer”, and there are plenty of other fancier pillows, but every extra ‘feature’ these others add takes away from the things that makes the Go Travel Snoozer so great. It’s light, folds super-thin, supports your neck, it’s made well, it’s washable, and it’s cheap. Perfect.
Air Comfy Inflatable Travel Pillow

This product was recommended by Sophia Samuel from Gecko Routes
This pillow features ergonomic support. Travelers can adjust the firmness and inflation of the pillow per their preferences. Personally, I recommend this pillow since it is versatile, durable, and can be inflated in just 60 seconds.
UROPHYLLA Inflatable Travel Pillow

This product was recommended by Liz Brown from Sleeping Lucid
What makes the UROPHYLLA pillow the best for travel is that it has lesser air leaks, ergonomically raised, and adjustable from firm, medium, to soft, and fit, giving the user control over his travel experience.
SUITEDNOMAD Ultralight Inflatable Pillow

This product was recommended by Sara Sarafa from Kopa Tours
The Suited Nomad Inflatable Pillow is great! I took it with me to climb Kilimanjaro, and it was a life saver. It comes with a carabiner, a protective shell that is easy to fit back inside. The locking technology was super easy to use for both inflation as well as deflation and it only took 3-5 breaths to have it completely filled. Lastly, it actually stayed firm all night, which helped protect me from the elements on the mountain and ensured that I got the sleep that I desperately needed!
Metene Travel Pillow

This product was recommended by Claire Barber from Treeological
If you’re looking for a top-quality inflatable travel pillow, check out Metene’s travel pillow. Its velvet covering provides a soothing touch when you’re trying to get some shut-eye while traveling. Additionally, the cover is removable, which makes it easy to clean. The inflatable nature of the pillow makes it great for travel since you can easily slip it into your bag when you’re done using it. Furthermore, it inflates with just the touch of a button, so no need to worry about huffing and puffing. The pillow provides “raised neck support” in order to hold your head up while making sure your neck is aligned properly.
MyPillow Roll & GoAnywhere Pillow

This product was recommended by Brendan Hal from TakeFunnels
As a frequent traveller, a big struggle I’ve had is finding a comfortable pillow to catch some rest while travelling. I never liked the bulky wrap around your neck style travel pillows because I found them to be uncomfortable. The Go Anywhere Pillow was a game changer for me because it rolls in to a compact case (even smaller than an inflatable pillow) and it provided just the right amount of cushion.
Trekology Airplane Pillow

This product was recommended by Melanie Musson from Insurantly
What makes this pillow so great is that when it’s deflated, it takes up almost no room at all. You can easily throw it in your personal item for flying. It only takes three to five breaths to inflate, and it provides comfortable neck support.
ONWEGO Inflatable Neck Pillow

This product was recommended by Shannon Jones from KeeKee’s Big Adventures
I’m a huge fan of neck pillows and have tried many. I’ve now ordered this one twice (lost the first one). It’s super comfortable and soft (no seams to annoy /itch your neck), easy to inflate, SUPER light, removable washable cover, AND it folds up VERY easily into its own carrying pouch!!
Inflatable Kids Travel Pillow

This product was recommended by Andrew Taylor from Net Lawman
I have made a (very small) investment in an inflatable pillow lately which has transformed the way I travel. It’s a leg rest and can be inflated to three different heights. I believe they are commonly sold as ‘toddler beds’, meaning that youngsters are able to lie flat n economy class, a game-changer I would suppose for parents. For me, however, my legs get the worst treatment on the plane and a rolled-up blanket suffices for my neck. I thought that by not simply focusing on neck pillows, you might attract some more readers.
